MESBAH MIGHT BE SOLD
The AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has said that the club are likely to sell the defender Djamel Mesbah before the end of the transfer window.
The Algerian international defender has been subject to transfer interest from the likes of Palermo. Due to the severe financial troubles faced by the Italian team, AC Milan will be selling a number of players before the transfer window closes. Djamel Mesbah is expected to be the next departure from the San Siro. AC Milan fans have been extremely angry at the transfer policy of the club, which has seen a number of high profile players and squad players leave the club in the summer.
However, quality replacements have not been brought into the club. The sale of Djamel Mesbah is once again expected to infuriate the fans. The 27 year old defender arrived at the club last season from Lecce. Even though he made only eight appearances last season for the club, he was expected to play a major role in the club this season due to the departures of Nesta and many other high profile players. However, he is now set to be sold to Palermo after it was confirmed by the CEO Adriano Galliani.
“Negotiations are taking place with Palermo over Mesbah. If we indeed sell him this summer, we will not bring in a replacement for him,” Adriano Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. The departure of the Italian international Federico Balzaretti from Palermo to Roma has meant that the Palermo manager Giuseppe Sannino has had to deal with a void in the defensive positions. This is set to be covered by the arrival of Djamel Mesbah, who had 27 years of age will be an excellent addition to the club in terms of both the transfer value and also the playing staff.
